I'm not that mom

I can't help but notice every time that I'm out and about, I see women/mothers who look like they are all put together. Their hair is done, make-up on, cute outfits etc. I am constantly asking myself, where do they find the time to do all of that? Obviously, they must make it a priority. I am not saying that I am a disheveled mess every time I go out, but I most certainly do not put emphasis on my appearance like that. I'm lucky if I have the three of us dressed and out of pajamas...
I would say there are maybe 3-4 times a year where I do get "dolled" up. This would occur on special occasions such as birthdays, holidays, and maybe our anniversary. Even then, I would consider getting "dolled up" to include blow drying my hair instead of air drying, maybe even using a curling iron (wow, lets not get carried away right?), curling my eyelashes and applying cover up/makeup. Then I would wear an outfit which only took me 2 hours to decide on after trying on countless options. I know what you're thinking now...HOLY COW Where did she come from??
So lets say on an average day, I shower, comb out my hair, get dressed, and then pull my hair back. Get the kids dressed and head out. Not much thought really goes into my appearance. So today, I am thankful for
that. Thank the bitty's who keep me from spending too much time on how I look ;-)
Today I am also thankful for
21. our wood-burning pellet stove to keep us warm in these new-found cold temperatures
22. left over cookies from last night for breakfast :)
23. shorter work days for the hubbee
24. a new perfume which doesn't give me a headache
25. cozy new slippers
26. sunshine
27. 4wd vehicles
28. a good washer and dryer (washing diapers reminds me of this often)
29. supportive friends and family
30. a passion to create  things

  1. I know what you mean about these other put together women. I'm not a mom and I don't even have time for that! lol Today I saw a mom pushing her shopping cart fully decked out down to her high heeled boots. Ummm, high heels? Are you kidding me? It must be the highlight of these ladies day to dress up to do errands. Last week I went in my pj bottoms. haha! Cute post!
