The past few weeks have been, let me just say, CRAZY. Just a lot going on, in a "I can't believe that my last post was over a week ago, seems like yesterday" kind of way. The bittys and I took a road trip with my mom last week to Iowa to see family. (Side note, someone said that stands for IdiotsOutWalkingAround) RUDE, right? Anyways, it was nice and the first trip in our new Ride ;) ::saving that post for another time:: I requested the time off of work and we spent 4 days on the road and basically 2 days visiting. Man, road trips can be tortuous. Not really a huge deal just tiring traveling so many hours with 2 kiddos, regardless of the amount of DVDs, snacks, juice cups, potty and milk breaks! We got back on Saturday, only to find out that I was scheduled to work Sunday. That didn't so much happen.
I did go to work Monday night and had been fine all day on Monday. Then a few hours into my shift I started feeling, lets just say "yuck". I told my supervisor, and an hour later made it known that I should probably go home before I spilled my cookies at work. I practically ran to my car, got in, and promptly set the cruise to 82 mph (speed limit 75). I tried to remember if I had anything in my car resembling a plastic bag/container. I frantically swished around my backseat and felt a walmart bag full of snacks. Dumping out the contents, I set the bag on my lap and returned 100% of my focus to the road. It was 9 o'clock. There was traffic. Why is there traffic? I'm used to 12 am and no traffic. Don't these people know I really need to get home? (p.s. the fastest I've ever made it home is 58 minutes) About half of my drive is interstate, and so I made it to my exit only to feel my cheeks swelling and my mouth begining to water. I knew I had to pull over. Lets just say I will never look at that spot of highway the same ever again, and every commute will now hold a new memory!
Bet you didn't think that was coming when you started reading the post!
Well, I spent the night/morning/all.next.day. in bed. Luckily, the bug retreated after 24 hours and I resumed almost normal functioning. I felt good enough to go back to work on wednesday, and had to go in early for a mandatory employee meeting. An incident occured with only 1 1/2 hours remaining on our shift, which pushed all of our lovely hand-written charting to be done into the wee hours of the morning. I left work at 1 am and pulled into the garage close to 2 am. Ahhh sweet relief. After a long choatic day I could finally go to bed.
WRONG. Well, after the first hour and a half, I was rudely awoken by an all to familiar sound, echoing what I had experienced 2 nights before. Hubbee had gotten the bug. Greeeat I thought, just great. Bitty #2 must have also heard it and began to fuss through the monitor. "She'll go back to sleep" I think, and roll over to do the same myself. I don't even know what happened after that, all I know is what didn't. SLEEP. After one of the many times trying to console bitty #2, I was walking back to bed when bitty #1 ran into the bathroom crying. Really? Can this really be happening? Of course it can, it's my life, everything happens at once. Now hubbee and bitty #1 are both taking turns in the bathroom. And I have moved out to the couch to try and get some rest. Oh its past 6 am at this point. All I know is that even setting toe on the couch, not 5 minutes later, someone was crying, puking, or crying or puking. So lets just say that I am REALLY ready for the germs to leave my house, and for the spring flowers to come out. Oh, and for the Sleep God to not hate me. I have to go to work again tomorrow. And I am fully expecting Bitty #2 to take her turn with the bug tonight. As much as I tried to segregate the house, I'm not sure if the germs listened. I guess we will find out.
Now arent' you glad you took the time to read this? Thanks anyway for listening :)
